Yellow and other silences

Yellow and other silences

2021
Mixed media on canvas
80 X 100 cm

This painting is a vibrant dialogue between light and texture. The intense yellow and salmon tones emerge strongly, like flashes of energy trapped in the framework of a green and greyish background. The surface reveals hidden layers that suggest depth and memory.
The yellow glazes, applied with subtlety, seem to float on the canvas, blurring the contours and giving an ethereal quality to the composition. These transparencies soften the chromatic intensity and provide an atmospheric dimension, as if the light were filtering through a delicate veil, transforming the shapes into echoes of colour.
In contrast, the dark lines cross the space with determination, structuring the chromatic chaos and providing the work with a dynamic tension. These traces, sometimes precise and sometimes more gestural, function as a visual scaffolding that balances the warmth of the yellows and the salmon tone with the sobriety of the background. The work moves between the brilliance of warm colours and the serenity of greyish green tones. This work is an exploration of contrast and harmony, where light and shadow, opacity and transparency, coexist in a delicate balance.
This painting stands as a field of sensations, an open space where colour and form invite contemplation, suggesting emotional landscapes in which matter and light converse in a silent and profound dance.
