Metamorphosis

2018
Acrylic on canvas
30 x 70 cm

The painting that unfolds before us is a visual ode to serenity and transformation. Green, in its infinite palette of tones, spreads across the entire canvas, creating an enveloping atmosphere. From the softest and lightest greens, which evoke the freshness of nature in its purest state, to the darkest and deepest tones that suggest mystery and depth, the color moves fluidly, like an organic torrent that unfolds harmoniously.
In the center of this composition, a figure emerges that is interpreted as a chrysalis, with an enveloping, almost ethereal form. The chrysalis, contained in its figure, seems to enclose a secret within it, a promise of metamorphosis, an idea suspended in time. Its presence is the key piece of the painting, not only because of its shape, but because of what it represents: evolution, rebirth, the growth from the internal to the external. The outline of the chrysalis merges with the greens, as if the environment itself were shaping it, awaiting a revelation that, though hidden, is imminent.
The use of green in its multiple shades not only imbues the painting with life, but charges it with a silent energy, like a constantly changing garden, where each shade suggests a new phase of growth or rest. Green, traditionally associated with nature, hope and renewal, here takes on an introspective character, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the idea of the constant transformation that occurs in all living beings.
The chrysalis stands as a symbol of introspection, a space of stillness amid the vibrant dynamism of green. When looking at it, the viewer can almost feel the tension between what is contained and what is about to come out, between what is and what is yet to be. In this painting, green is not only a color, but a visual language that speaks of growth, of the stillness before change, of what is hidden before being revealed.
