Soul, fire and shadow

2022
Mixed media on canvas
80 X 80 cm

The painting stands as a visual symphony where the shapes intertwine in a dance of colors that dialogue and complement each other. The work becomes an encounter between harmony and tension, where each figure is part of an interconnected whole, evoking unity through chromatic interaction.
The light, warm and soft tones unfold delicately, creating a subtle background that, in its apparent softness, allows the most intense colors to find their space to inhabit the pictorial space in a forceful manner. Among these light tones, deep blacks and rich terracottas emerge, dominating the canvas with a contained but indisputable force. Black provides a dimension of depth that attracts the eye, while terracotta bursts forth with its earthly warmth, providing a vibrant energy to the work, like an echo of the primordial force of the earth.
Throughout the composition, the encaustic, with its soft and dense texture, flows as a unifying element, imbuing the work with a tactile quality that enriches its visual appearance. This medium, when carefully applied, not only accompanies the intensity of the dark and warm colors, but also gives them a subtle luminosity, as if the canvas itself were breathing the vibration of the material. The texture of the encaustic softens the transitions between tones and reinforces the depth, creating a sense of enveloping that invites the viewer to explore beyond the surface.
The dialogue between the diversity of tones is not merely chromatic, but also conceptual. The work is not limited to the visual, but also transmits an emotional energy that is reflected in the synchronization of colors and shapes.
In the work, each layer of color, each shape, and each encaustic stroke not only interrelate, but also balance each other, offering the viewer an experience of profound contemplation, where strength and serenity coexist, and where unity emerges from the interaction between diversity.
