Gray echoes

Gray echoes

2020
Acrylic on canvas
80 X 100 cm

This title highlights the presence of greyish figures within the work, pictorial accents that act as visual echoes within the clear structure of the geometries. The grey shapes, when inserted into a background of soft geometries, accentuate a sense of resonance or reverberation, suggesting that the subtle and the dark have a significant importance amidst the clarity, creating a harmony between contrast and serenity.
The structural base of the painting, made up of geometric shapes in light tones, creates a serene atmosphere, while the grey figures emerge as elements that not only accentuate the composition, but also provide an intangible depth, an echo of what is visible but diffuse, what is present but remains in a kind of subtle shadow.
Amidst this balanced setting, touches of blue, green and yellow filter through gently, acting as chromatic accents that evoke a deep emotional connection with the work. Blue, in its light hue, suggests an ethereal calm. The very light green hue, in its subdued, almost watery appearance, brings a sense of organicity, of something that flows without forcing its presence, like a sigh that runs through the space between the shapes. The yellow hue, in its light intensity, acts almost as a reflection of light, a visual whisper that brings a spark of optimism or warmth to the work. Its presence is not dominant, but its soft glow makes the painting breathe. This touch of yellow not only illuminates, but infuses the composition with a sense of contained hope, of something that, although light, has an energetic power that complements the general serenity.
Together, these colors create an atmosphere that feels both introspective and expansive, a visual space that invites reflection but also serene contemplation.
