Mixed media on canvas

This painting, dominated by the transparency and texture of encaustic, expresses its forcefulness through an abstract geometric figure, in a vibrant green, which stands out as the protagonist. The base of the work is built from a layer of encaustic, whose subtle shine and delicate transparencies allow the organic textures of the encaustic itself to unfold, as a reflection of nature itself, rich in imperfections and nuances. This use of encaustic not only as a technique, but also as a visual language, brings a tactile quality to the work, inviting the viewer to perceive its surface in an almost palpable way.
The central geometric figure, in an intense green, seems to emerge from the translucent layer of encaustic, evoking a sensation of luminosity that radiates from within the painting. The green, in its most radiant shade, seems to challenge the stillness of the surface, creating an atmosphere of energy, as if it were an organism that beats strongly on the canvas.
The intensity of the green is amplified by the transparency of the encaustic, which allows the light to refract through the layers, creating a vibrant and enveloping atmosphere.
In contrast to the clarity of the green figure, various areas of the painting display the richness of the organic textures of the encaustic. These textures provide a sense of depth, as if the painting were made up of layers of time, each with its own marks and traces of the artist's hand. The encaustic, in its delicate and controlled application, transforms the work into a landscape of internal shadows and lights, where variations in transparency and opacity create a sense of movement within the visual stillness of the geometric figure.
As a whole, the work creates a visual space that is in constant transformation and movement, while at the same time maintaining its internal serenity.
