The geometry of the instant

2023
Mixed media on canvas
100 X 100 cm

This painting is presented as a visual exercise in contrasts and aesthetic tension, where geometric shapes intertwine in a dance of opposites, creating a visual space charged with energy and contrast. The work is built on a base of geometric figures of intense black, which, with their resounding presence, project a drastic contrast with the softer tones that surround them. This use of black not only establishes a firm and decisive structure in the composition, but also adds a drama that imbues the work with a dense, almost tangible energy. The dark accents radiate a forcefulness that leaves no room for indifference, a point of visual gravity that draws the viewer's gaze towards areas of maximum concentration and strength.
The watery green figures that emerge from the composition seem to flow in an organic, almost liquid way, as if the color were sliding and melting on the surface of the canvas. The shade of green, with its almost translucent texture, provides a freshness that contrasts with the rigidity of the black lines, evoking lightness and fluidity as opposed to the solidity and permanence of black
The light background that extends throughout the work, adorned with yellow hues, seems to envelop the figures in a soft luminosity, like an enveloping atmosphere surrounding the shapes within an open space. The use of encaustic gives the yellow tones a rich and warm texture, imbuing the surface with a sense of luminous depth that is not immediate, but unfolds slowly, as if the light were coming from within the work itself. These tones seem to radiate a soft but constant energy, almost as if the painting were breathing, creating an ethereal atmosphere amidst the firmness of the black strokes.
The work is not only a visual observation, but also a sensory experience, where color, texture and shape become inseparable elements that enrich the meaning of the composition.
