Witness of the eon

2019
Acrylic on canvas
50 X 60 cm

The work is presented as a visual meditation on the passage of time. In the painting, the geometric shapes are not just figures, but witnesses to a deep and archaic history. These shapes, with their worn textures, evoke the surface of peeling walls that have withstood the onslaught of centuries, as if the canvas itself contained the trace of lost days and the memory of a forgotten world. The terracotta and yellow colors unfold with a warmth that seems to emanate directly from the earth, mixing and contrasting with a subtlety that reflects both the primordial energy and the serenity of flowing time.
In the midst of this ethereal texture, the unique figure of an antediluvian being stands out, an almost mythical presence, whose outline is partially lost among the textures of the work, as if it were an ancient spectre silently observing the transformation of the world around it. His posture seems evocative, motionless and contemplative, like a witness to everything that has been, what is and what will no longer be. This being is not only physically present, but seems to be the personification of memory, of what has resisted the passing of the years, symbolizing the erosion of time.
The base of the work, like a subtle backdrop, allows the details of the composition to breathe freely, without detracting from the central figure and each stroke. The work, in its entirety, plays with a sense of slowness, as if each element were suspended in time, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in deep contemplation, where history and the present are intertwined in an endless cycle.
